There was a minor upset in Aguada where 3rd placedGigantes (6-5) were defeated by sixth ranked Santeros (3-8) 96-83 on Thursday. Aguada outrebounded Carolina 42-25 including 28 on the defensive glass. Aguada looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. It was a great evening for Serbian-American power forward Nick Rakocevic (211-1997, college: USC, agency: Slash Sports) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 21 points, 16 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 blocks. Dominican center Joel Soriano (211-2000, college: St.John's) helped adding 15 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Four Santeros players scored in double figures. American guard Kobi Simmons (196-1997, college: Arizona) responded with 19 points and 8 assists and the other American import forward Kristian Doolittle (201-1997, college: Oklahoma, agency: Pensack Sports) scored 3 points, 7 rebounds and 10 assists. Gigantes' coach let to play twelve players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Aguada maintains sixth place with 3-8 record. Defending champion Carolina dropped to the fourth position with five games lost.
